CAMP INFO

This camp is a 2 night/3 day retreat that will give fathers and sons (ages 9 and up) the opportunity to refresh their relationship; learn principles from God’s Word on competition, self-esteem, and communication; and have fun together on the beautiful  grounds of Rock Eagle. The camp offers great coaching on the mats for the sons, while “the dads” learn to become better husbands and fathers.

Registration opens on Friday afternoon. Camp runs from Friday evening to 12pm on Sunday.

COACHES/SPEAKERS

Jim Gruenwald – 3x Nat’l Christian College Champ; 4x National AAU Greco Champ; 2x Olympian for USA; Pam Am Champ & World Cup Champion; head coach at Wheaton College. Jim and his wife live in Illinois, where they are raising their six children.

Cliff Harris – A 2x GA state champ; Graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he was a 4 year starter; Captain of the team in 1987; 3x Placer at the EIWA championships (4th, 3rd, 2nd) & EIWA Finalist in 1987; 2x qualifier for the NCAA Championships. Upon graduation from West Point, Cliff was commissioned as an officer and became a U.S. Army Aviator. A Gulf War Veteran, Cliff has been the recipient of The Air Medal with “V” for valor in Combat Operations during Desert Storm; the Meritorious Service Medal; the Humanitarian Service Medal; Kuwait Liberation Medal, South West Asia Service Medal, the National Defense Medal; & 4 U.S. Army Commendation Medals,. Today Cliff serves as V.P. of Healthcare National Accounts with HD Supply. He & his wife have 2 grown children.

Josh Henson – Josh is a former NCAA All-American for U. of Pennsylvania; trained at the OTC for one year; and was the asst. head coach at U. Penn for 7 yrs. He started the wrestling program at Shorter U., where he built a solid winning D-II program. Today Josh and his wife, Jenn, live with their four children in Manheim, PA, where Josh is the new FCA Area Director for Lancaster Co, PA.

Tony Van Horn – A former NJ state champ; two-year starter for Ohio State University, and a Big Ten placer. Coach Van Horn coached McEachern H.S. (Powder Springs) to 6 Georgia HS state team championships. Today Tony is a financial planner for the Van Horn Group, at UBS Financial. Tony and his wife, Kelley, have two children (one in high school & one in college).

Bill Gifford – A 3x placer in the NEIWA championships for Springfield College, & competed at the D-II NCAA’s. After a year of coaching at Springfield, he wrestled for the Athletes-in-Action from 1976 – 1980, qualifying for the USA Team Training Camp 3 times (2x in freestyle & 1x in Greco-Roman). Bill has a Master’s of Divinity, & is Director of FCA Wrestling in Georgia. Bill & Kay have 4 grown sons.

COST

$325.00/ father & son couple, and $150 for each additional wrestler.
(Price includes 5 meals, 2 nights lodging, great technique training, lots of fun, T-shirt, & FCA Bible.)
